DTF Printing FAQ

Everything you need to know about Direct to Film (DTF) printing and ordering a gang sheet. Still stuck? Use the chat button in the corner.

DTF (Direct to Film) printing is a transfer method where your design is printed onto a special film, coated with adhesive powder, then heat-pressed onto a garment or blank. Unlike screen printing, DTF works on almost any fabric, holds fine detail and full color, and doesn't require separate screens per design — which is why it's become the go-to option for small batches, one-off orders, and fast turnaround.
No minimums and no setup or art fees, ever. Order a single gang sheet if that's all you need, or as many as you want.
Upload PNG or JPG files in our gang sheet builder. PNGs with a transparent background work best, since anything opaque (including a white background) will print as a solid block. The builder flags images without transparency and can remove a white background for you automatically. Your finished sheet is exported print-ready at 150 DPI, no separate file prep needed.
Yes. Pick "Custom Length" in the builder and enter any length from 24" to 240" on our 22"-wide roll — you only pay for the length you use, priced per inch instead of jumping to the next preset size up.
Most orders print and ship within 1–2 business days of payment. You'll get an email as soon as your order ships, and you can check status anytime on our order tracking page.
Yes — orders over $150 ship free. Below that, a flat shipping rate is calculated at checkout before you pay.
If an order arrives damaged, misprinted, or otherwise defective because of an error on our end, contact us with the order number and photos and we'll reprint it or refund it, no hassle. We can't refund design mistakes in artwork the customer uploaded, or blanks pressed incorrectly on the customer's end.
General starting point for most heat presses: 300–325°F, 10–15 seconds, medium-firm even pressure, then peel while warm/hot (cold-peel films should cool fully first — check the specific transfer). For best durability, repress for another 5–10 seconds with a parchment sheet or Teflon cover. Settings vary by machine, blank fabric, and film, so always test on a scrap piece first.
Yes — create a free account (or log in if you already have one) and every order placed with that email shows up on your account page with a one-click Reorder button.
Of course. An account is optional and only unlocks order history and reorder. You can check out as a guest and still track any order on our order tracking page using your order number and email.
